1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the services of The Duchess and the Cat's Manor ("the Manor", "we", "us", "our"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Service Description

The Manor provides luxury cat boarding and care services at our facility located in Taipei, Taiwan. Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Overnight boarding accommodation
  • Daily feeding and care
  • Health monitoring and medical support
  • Grooming and spa services
  • Photography and video services

3. Booking and Reservations

3.1 Booking Process

All bookings must be made through our official website, phone, or in-person at our facility. A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of payment or deposit as specified.

3.2 Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made 7+ days before check-in: Full refund
  • Cancellations made 3-6 days before check-in: 50% refund
  • Cancellations made less than 3 days before check-in: No refund
  • No-shows: No refund

3.3 Changes to Reservations

Changes to confirmed reservations are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance for any changes.

4. Pet Requirements

4.1 Health Requirements

All cats must:

  • Be in good health and free from contagious diseases
  • Have current vaccinations (FVRCP, Rabies as required by Taiwan law)
  • Provide vaccination records upon check-in
  • Be treated for fleas and parasites

4.2 Behavioral Requirements

We reserve the right to refuse service to cats exhibiting aggressive behavior that may endanger staff or other cats. If aggressive behavior is discovered after check-in, we may require immediate pick-up without refund.

4.3 Medical Conditions

Please disclose all medical conditions, medications, and special needs at the time of booking. We reserve the right to refuse cats requiring specialized medical care beyond our capabilities.

5. Owner Responsibilities

5.1 Information Accuracy

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about your cat, including:

  • Medical history and current medications
  • Dietary requirements and restrictions
  • Behavioral characteristics
  • Emergency contact information
  • Veterinarian contact information

5.2 Pick-up and Drop-off

You must arrive during our operating hours for check-in and check-out. Late pick-ups may incur additional daily charges.

5.3 Payment

Payment is due at check-in unless otherwise arranged. We accept cash, credit cards, and bank transfers. Additional services will be charged at check-out.

6. Our Responsibilities

6.1 Care Standards

We commit to:

  • Providing clean, safe, and comfortable accommodation
  • Feeding cats according to provided instructions
  • Monitoring health and behavior daily
  • Maintaining a secure facility
  • Providing immediate notification of any health concerns

6.2 Medical Care

In the event of a medical emergency, we will:

  • Attempt to contact you immediately
  • Contact your designated veterinarian
  • If unable to reach you, seek appropriate veterinary care
  • You authorize and agree to pay for any emergency medical treatment provided

7. Liability and Disclaimers

7.1 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Taiwan law, the Manor's liability for any claim arising from our services shall be limited to the amount paid for the specific service period in question.

7.2 Exclusions

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions that manifest during the stay
  • Injury or illness despite proper care being provided
  • Loss or damage to personal items brought by the owner
  • Natural disasters, acts of God, or circumstances beyond our control

7.3 Personal Property

We are not responsible for loss or damage to bedding, toys, or other items you provide. Please label all items clearly.

8. Photography and Media

By using our services, you grant the Manor permission to photograph and video your cat for:

  • Internal monitoring and care purposes
  • Providing updates to you via live camera feeds
  • Marketing and promotional materials (unless you opt out in writing)
  • Social media posts (unless you opt out in writing)

You may opt out of marketing use by notifying us in writing at any time.

9. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters (earthquakes, typhoons, floods)
  • Government actions or restrictions
  • Public health emergencies
  • Utility failures

In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your cat and notify you promptly.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Taiwan, Republic of China. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Taipei, Taiwan.

11. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute, we encourage you to contact us directly to seek resolution. If a resolution cannot be reached:

  • Both parties agree to first attempt mediation
  • Disputes may be brought before the Taipei District Court
  • The prevailing party may be entitled to reasonable attorney's fees

12. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please see our Privacy Policy for information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
